STIMULANT DRUGS
Why this applies to Hydrocodone, Pseudoephedrine
Hydrocodone, Pseudoephedrine falls under STIMULANT DRUGS — the group Caffeine interacts with.
Due to the central nervous system (CNS) stimulant effects of caffeine, concomitant use with stimulant drugs can increase the risk of adverse effects.
Interaction has not been documented in well-controlled studies, however, the interaction has been demonstrated in some small human studies or in controlled animal studies in conjunction with multiple case reports..
Here's the thing to keep an eye on with this combo. Your medicine contains pseudoephedrine, which is itself a stimulant decongestant. It can already speed up your heart and raise your blood pressure a bit. When you stack caffeine on top, you're adding a second stimulant, so those effects can pile up. You might notice a racing or pounding heart, jitteriness, trouble sleeping, restlessness, or feeling wired.
This is mostly expert-based caution rather than hard proof, and a normal cup of coffee with the occasional dose is unlikely to cause trouble for most people. The risk grows with energy drinks, lots of coffee, or caffeine pills. The hydrocodone part is a sedating opioid and isn't really driving this concern. If you have heart issues, anxiety, or high blood pressure, check with your pharmacist or doctor before mixing the two.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Hydrocodone, Pseudoephedrine page
“Rezira and P-V-Tussin pair hydrocodone, an opioid, with pseudoephedrine, a decongestant, so the 241 supplements here pull in two directions and I would handle this combination with real care. Most entries either deepen the opioid's sedation (78 ingredients are CNS depressants, alcohol included) or stack stimulant effects onto the pseud…”
