Pramlintide brand name: Symlin.
Caffeine has a minor interaction with Pramlintide. Theoretically, taking caffeine with antidiabetes drugs might interfere with blood glucose control.

ANTIDIABETES DRUGS
Why this applies to Pramlintide
Pramlintide falls under ANTIDIABETES DRUGS — the group Caffeine interacts with.
Data are conflicting. Reports claim that caffeine might increase or decrease blood sugar.
Interaction has been demonstrated in animal or in lab research but has been shown not to occur in humans..
Here's the honest picture for pramlintide (Symlin) and your coffee or tea. Pramlintide isn't broken down by caffeine, and caffeine doesn't change how the drug works in your body. The concern here is indirect: caffeine itself can nudge blood sugar a little, and the research is genuinely mixed, with some reports showing it raises sugar and others showing it lowers it. That's why this is rated minor and unlikely.
Since pramlintide is paired with mealtime insulin, the real thing to watch is low blood sugar, plus its usual side effects like nausea. A morning coffee probably won't matter much, but big swings in caffeine could make your numbers harder to read. If you notice odd readings, check your sugar and chat with your pharmacist or doctor before changing anything.

See Every Supplement That Interacts With Pramlintide
This page covers Caffeine only. If you take other supplements — a multivitamin, a sleep aid, something for joints — the Pramlintide page lists 239 supplements it has a documented interaction with, worst first, each one explained.
The most serious there right now: Siberian Cocklebur (major), Acai (moderate), African Wild Potato (moderate), Agaricus Mushroom (moderate) and Agmatine (moderate).
By severity: 1 major · 208 moderate · 30 minor.
From our pharmacist’s overview on the Pramlintide page
“The single entry rated major on the pramlintide (Symlin) list is Siberian cocklebur, which has caused severe hypoglycemia in humans, not just in lab studies. That matters more than usual here because pramlintide is injected at mealtimes alongside insulin, and a dangerous low is already the main hazard of that pairing.”

About Caffeine
What is Caffeine?
- Mental alertness and reducing fatigue
- Improving athletic performance
- Headache and migraine relief
- Boosting focus and concentration
- Weight loss aid
Caffeine is a natural stimulant found in coffee, tea, and many other plants and products. In moderate amounts it can boost alertness and reduce tiredness for most healthy adults, but too much can cause jitteriness, a racing heart, and sleep problems. Pregnant women and people with heart conditions or anxiety should be especially careful and check with a doctor or pharmacist.
About Pramlintide Injection
What Is Pramlintide Injection Used For?
Brand name: Symlin
SymlinPen (pramlintide) is used as an add-on treatment for adults with type 1 or type 2 diabetes who already use mealtime insulin but still haven't reached their target blood sugar levels — even with optimal insulin therapy.
It is not a replacement for insulin. It works alongside insulin, given right before major meals, to reduce the spike in blood sugar that happens after eating.

Pramlintide Is Linked to Lower Levels of One Nutrient
Natural Medicines records Pramlintide as a medicine that can lower these. This is not an interaction with Caffeine — it is a separate effect of the medicine, and it is a reason some people are advised to supplement rather than to avoid one:
