Here's the simple version: Ryzodeg combines two insulins (aspart for mealtime coverage and degludec for steady, all-day control), and both work by lowering your blood sugar. The dream herb, Calea zacatechichi, has shown a possible blood-sugar-lowering effect in animal studies. So the worry is that stacking the two could push your glucose down a little too far.

I'll be honest with you, this is mostly a theoretical concern based on lab and animal work, not solid human data, so I wouldn't lose sleep over it. Still, if you do try the herb, watch for signs of low blood sugar: shakiness, sweating, a racing heart, confusion, or feeling lightheaded. Check your levels a bit more often at first, and loop in your doctor or pharmacist before combining them.
