Trandolapril falls under ANTIHYPERTENSIVE DRUGS — the group Casein Peptides interacts with.

Theoretically, combining these casein peptides with antihypertensive drugs might increase the risk of hypotension.
Clinical research shows that some casein peptides, including the lactotripeptides isoleucine-proline-proline (IPP) and valine-proline-proline (VPP), can modestly reduce blood pressure in patients with hypertension.

Here's the gist with trandolapril (Mavik): your medicine already lowers blood pressure by blocking ACE, the enzyme that tightens blood vessels. Casein peptides, especially the lactotripeptides IPP and VPP, may nudge that same system a little. So stacking them together could add up and push your blood pressure lower than expected.

The most likely thing you'd notice is too much of a good thing: dizziness, lightheadedness, or feeling faint when you stand up quickly. The blood-pressure effect from these peptides is usually modest, and the evidence is on the weaker side, so this isn't an emergency. Still, if you're thinking about a casein peptide supplement, run it by your pharmacist or doctor first, and keep an eye on your home blood pressure readings.

About Trandolapril

What Is Trandolapril Used For?

Brand name: Mavik

Trandolapril tablets are used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). They can be used on their own or combined with other blood pressure medicines such as hydrochlorothiazide.

Trandolapril tablets are also used in stable patients who have reduced heart pumping function (left-ventricular systolic dysfunction) or heart failure that developed within the first few days after a heart attack. In Caucasian patients, trandolapril has been shown to lower the risk of cardiovascular death and reduce hospitalizations related to heart failure.
