Nabumetone falls under PHOTOSENSITIZING DRUGS — the group Chlorophyllin interacts with.

Theoretically, concomitant use of chlorophyllin with photosensitizing drugs may have additive effects.
Chlorophyllin is a semi-synthetic derivative of chlorophyll. Chlorophyll has been reported to cause photosensitization. Orally, chlorophyll has also been associated with the development of pseudoporphyria in multiple case reports.

Here's the thing to know about pairing chlorophyllin with nabumetone: both can make your skin more sensitive to sunlight. Nabumetone is an NSAID, and like several anti-inflammatory drugs it can occasionally cause photosensitivity, meaning you sunburn faster or break out in a rash on sun-exposed skin. Chlorophyllin has been linked to similar sun-sensitivity reactions, so using them together could, in theory, add up.

I want to be honest that this is mostly a theoretical concern based on case reports, not strong proof, so most people won't run into trouble. Still, it's smart to use sunscreen, cover up outdoors, and watch for any unusual rash or burning. If you notice that, or you're unsure about combining these, check in with your pharmacist or doctor.

What Is Nabumetone Used For?

Brand names: Relafen, Nabumetone

Nabumetone tablets — available as generic nabumetone and as the brand Relafen DS — are used to relieve pain, swelling, and stiffness caused by osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis.

It is meant to be used at the lowest effective dose for the shortest time needed. It is not approved for pain relief around coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) heart surgery.
