Selexipag falls under ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS — the group Cnidium interacts with.

Laboratory research shows that osthol, a constituent of cnidium, inhibits blood clotting and the activity of platelets. Theoretically, cnidium might increase the risk of bleeding when used with antiplatelet or anticoagulant drugs.
Some anticoagulant or antiplatelet drugs include aspirin, clopidogrel (Plavix), dalteparin (Fragmin), enoxaparin (Lovenox), heparin, ticlopidine (Ticlid), warfarin (Coumadin), and others.

Here's the thing to know about Selexipag (Uptravi): it isn't a blood thinner itself, but it does relax and widen the blood vessels in your lungs. Cnidium contains a compound called osthole that, in lab and animal studies only, has shown a mild ability to slow blood clotting and quiet down platelets. So the theoretical concern is that pairing the two could nudge you toward easier bruising or bleeding, like nosebleeds, bleeding gums, or cuts that take longer to stop.

I want to be honest with you though: this is a theoretical worry based on test-tube research, not real patient cases, so I wouldn't lose sleep over it. Still, before adding Cnidium, please run it by your pharmacist or doctor, especially since PAH is serious and you may be on other medications too.

What Is Selexipag Used For?

Brand name: Uptravi

Selexipag tablets are used to treat pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH, WHO Group I) — a type of high blood pressure in the arteries of the lungs. The goal is to slow the disease from getting worse and to reduce the chances of being hospitalized because of PAH.

Uptravi (selexipag) tablets are approved for both adults and children aged 2 years and older. Uptravi for injection (intravenous) is also available for adult patients who are already on Uptravi tablets but temporarily cannot take medicine by mouth.
