Here's the gist: Hyzaar is already a two-in-one blood pressure pill (losartan plus the water pill hydrochlorothiazide), and corn silk seems to nudge blood pressure down a bit too. Stack them together and your numbers could dip lower than you expect. That might show up as dizziness, lightheadedness when you stand up quickly, tiredness, or feeling a little weak.

The honest part: this concern is mostly theoretical, based on how corn silk behaves rather than strong studies of the two combined. For most people it won't cause trouble, but since corn silk also acts as a mild diuretic, pairing it with hydrochlorothiazide could add up. Before sipping corn silk tea or extract regularly, run it past your pharmacist or doctor.

Hyzaar combines two blood pressure medicines: hydrochlorothiazide (a water pill) and losartan. The hydrochlorothiazide part already makes your kidneys flush out extra fluid, sodium, and some potassium. Corn silk seems to do a little of the same thing, acting as a mild natural diuretic. So the worry here is simple stacking: taking both together could push your sodium and potassium lower than the medicine alone would.

If that happened, you might feel things like dizziness, muscle cramps, weakness, or feeling lightheaded when you stand up. To be fair, this is a theoretical concern based on how corn silk behaves, not strong proof of harm. Still, since you're already on a diuretic, it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor before adding corn silk, especially if your potassium tends to run low.
