These two interact in 2 distinct ways. Each one is explained separately below.
Why Are There 2 Interactions?
Corydalis Yanhusuo interacts with whole categories of medication. Acetaminophen, Ibuprofen falls into 2 of those categories, so it can interact with Corydalis Yanhusuo in 2 different ways. We’ve listed each one below — your overall risk is driven by the most serious of them (Moderate).
CYTOCHROME P450 2C9 (CYP2C9) SUBSTRATES
1 of 2Why this applies to Acetaminophen, Ibuprofen
Acetaminophen, Ibuprofen falls under CYTOCHROME P450 2C9 (CYP2C9) SUBSTRATES — the group Corydalis Yanhusuo interacts with.
Corydalis yanhusuo contains berberine. Preliminary clinical research shows that berberine can inhibit CYP2C9. Theoretically, Corydalis yanhusuo might also inhibit CYP2C9.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the gist with Combogesic, which pairs acetaminophen with ibuprofen. The ibuprofen part is partly cleared by a liver enzyme called CYP2C9. Corydalis may contain compounds (like berberine) that slow that enzyme down, so in theory ibuprofen could clear a bit slower and build up slightly. That might nudge up the usual ibuprofen side effects, such as stomach upset, heartburn, fluid retention, or, with heavier use, kidney strain. The acetaminophen half isn't really driven by this enzyme, so it's less of a concern here.
Honestly, this is a theoretical interaction based on lab reasoning, not real-world reports, so I wouldn't lose sleep over it. Still, since both Corydalis and ibuprofen are unpredictable, run it by your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.

ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS
2 of 2Acetaminophen, Ibuprofen also falls under ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS.
Corydalis yanhusuo contains berberine. In vitro and in vivo research suggest that berberine can inhibit platelet aggregation. Theoretically, Corydalis yanhusuo might also inhibit platelet aggregation.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the gist for Combogesic, which combines acetaminophen with ibuprofen. The ibuprofen half is what matters here. Ibuprofen is an NSAID, and on its own it already nudges your platelets toward being a little less sticky, which can mean more bleeding or bruising. Corydalis yanhusuo contains berberine, which lab and animal studies suggest may also slow platelets down. Stack the two, and in theory you could see a bit more risk of bruising, nosebleeds, or stomach irritation.
I'll be honest though, this is theoretical and based only on test-tube and animal research, not solid human data, so I wouldn't lose sleep over it. Still, if you take this regularly or are on any blood thinner, just run it by your pharmacist or doctor first.
