Here's the gist for alfuzosin (Uroxatral). Your liver uses an enzyme called CYP3A4 to clear this medicine out of your body. Corydalis yanhusuo contains compounds (like berberine) that may slow that same enzyme down. If the enzyme works slower, alfuzosin can build up a bit more than usual, which could nudge its effects up.

In real terms, more alfuzosin in your system can mean lightheadedness, dizziness, or a drop in blood pressure when you stand up, plus a stuffy nose or headache. The good news: this concern is theoretical, based on lab signals rather than solid human studies, so it may not amount to much. Still, since fainting is a known risk with alfuzosin, it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor before combining the two.

Alfuzosin is used to treat the signs and symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) — a non-cancerous enlargement of the prostate gland that can make urination difficult. It helps relax the muscles in the prostate and bladder neck so urine can flow more easily.

It is not approved to treat high blood pressure, and it is not for use in children or women.
