Here's the gist for dronabinol (Marinol, Syndros) and Corydalis. Your body relies partly on a liver enzyme called CYP2C9 to clear dronabinol out. Corydalis contains berberine, which lab and early human research suggests can slow that same enzyme down. If clearance slows, more dronabinol could linger in your blood, so its effects may feel stronger.

In real terms, that could mean more drowsiness, dizziness, a foggy or "high" feeling, fast heartbeat, or low blood pressure when standing. I want to be honest though: this is theoretical, based on how these compounds behave, not on solid human studies pairing the two. Please don't change anything on your own. Just run it by your pharmacist or doctor first.

Here's the gist for dronabinol (Marinol or Syndros). Your liver uses an enzyme called CYP3A4 to help break this medicine down and clear it. Corydalis contains berberine, which lab and early human studies suggest can mildly block that same enzyme. If clearance slows, more dronabinol could linger in your system, which may nudge up its usual effects, things like drowsiness, dizziness, a fuzzy or 'high' feeling, racing heartbeat, or feeling unsteady on your feet.

What Is Dronabinol Used For?

Brand names: Marinol, Syndros

Dronabinol — available as capsules (Marinol, Dronabinol) and as an oral solution (Syndros, Dronabinol oral solution) — is approved for two conditions in adults. First, it treats anorexia (severely reduced appetite) associated with weight loss in patients with AIDS. Second, it controls nausea and vomiting caused by cancer chemotherapy in patients who have not gotten enough relief from standard anti-nausea treatments.

Both uses apply to all available formulations, but dosing timing and meal instructions differ between the capsule and oral solution products. Always follow the specific instructions for the product you have been prescribed.
