Guanethidine, Hydrochlorothiazide falls under ANTIHYPERTENSIVE DRUGS — the group Corydalis Yanhusuo interacts with.

Theoretically, Corydalis yanhusuo might have additive effects with antihypertensive drugs.
Corydalis yanhusuo contains berberine. Animal research suggests that berberine can have hypotensive effects. Also, a clinical study suggests that taking berberine in combination with amlodipine can lower systolic and diastolic blood pressure when compared with amlodipine alone. Theoretically, Corydalis yanhusuo might also reduce blood pressure.

Esimil pairs guanethidine with hydrochlorothiazide, and both ingredients work to lower your blood pressure. The concern here is simple: Corydalis yanhusuo may have a mild blood-pressure-lowering effect of its own. Stacked on top of this medication, the two could add up and push your numbers lower than intended.

If that happens, you might notice dizziness, lightheadedness, feeling faint when you stand up, or unusual tiredness. Guanethidine already tends to cause drops in pressure when changing position, so any extra nudge is worth watching. Keep in mind this interaction is theoretical, based on how the herb behaves in lab and animal studies, not proven in people taking it with this drug. Still, please check with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them, and don't change your medication on your own.
