Here's the gist: Corydalis yanhusuo may contain berberine, a compound that some studies show can gently nudge blood sugar downward on its own. Since Metformin XR is already working to lower your blood sugar, stacking the two could add up and push your numbers lower than expected. That raises the chance of hypoglycemia symptoms like shakiness, sweating, dizziness, a racing heart, or feeling unusually tired.

I want to be honest about the strength here: this is a theoretical concern based on how these ingredients behave, not on solid human studies combining them. It's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor before adding Corydalis, and if you do, keeping an eye on your blood sugar readings is a smart move. Please don't change your metformin on your own.
