Theoretically, Corydalis yanhusuo might have additive effects with antihypertensive drugs.
Corydalis yanhusuo contains berberine. Animal research suggests that berberine can have hypotensive effects. Also, a clinical study suggests that taking berberine in combination with amlodipine can lower systolic and diastolic blood pressure when compared with amlodipine alone. Theoretically, Corydalis yanhusuo might also reduce blood pressure.

Here's the gist: Pindolol is a beta blocker that lowers your blood pressure and slows your heart rate. Corydalis yanhusuo contains plant compounds (like berberine) that may also nudge blood pressure downward. Put them together and the effects could stack up, so your numbers might dip lower than expected.

If that happens, you could feel lightheaded, dizzy, unusually tired, or faint, especially when you stand up quickly. I'll be straight with you though: this concern is theoretical, based mostly on lab and animal work and a study using berberine, not Corydalis itself or Pindolol directly. So it's a reason to be aware, not alarmed. Please check with your pharmacist or doctor before adding this herb, and keep an eye on your blood pressure if you do.

Corydalis yanhusuo contains berberine. In vitro research and preliminary clinical evidence show that berberine can inhibit CYP2D6. Theoretically, Corydalis yanhusuo might also inhibit CYP2D6.

Here's the gist. Your body uses a liver enzyme called CYP2D6 to help break down pindolol. Corydalis yanhusuo may contain compounds (like berberine) that can slow that enzyme down. If pindolol clears more slowly, more of it can hang around in your blood, which could nudge its effects a little stronger.

For a beta blocker like pindolol, that might mean a slower heart rate, lower blood pressure, dizziness, or feeling unusually tired. Pindolol is not a prodrug, so this goes in the direction of a slightly bigger effect, not a weaker one. That said, this is only a theoretical concern based on lab work, not proven in people. Please don't change anything on your own. Just check with your pharmacist or doctor before combining the two.
