Here's the simple version: Seconal (secobarbital) is a barbiturate, which means it already slows down your brain to help you fall asleep. Corydalis yanhusuo contains plant compounds that, in lab and animal studies, also seem to have a calming, sedative effect on the nervous system. Put them together and the worry is that they could pile on top of each other.

If that happens, you might feel more drowsy than expected: extra grogginess, dizziness, trouble waking up, slowed breathing, or feeling foggy the next morning. I want to be honest, though, this concern is theoretical and based on pharmacology, not on solid human studies. Still, since secobarbital is already a strong sedative, it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor before combining the two.
