Talazoparib falls under P-GLYCOPROTEIN SUBSTRATES — the group Devil's Claw interacts with.

Theoretically, devil's claw might increase levels of P-glycoprotein substrates.
In vitro research shows that devil's claw inhibits P-glycoprotein, which transports many drugs out of cells. This might increase intracellular levels of P-glycoprotein substrates, although it is unclear if this effect would be clinically important.

Here's the gist for Talzenna (talazoparib): it relies on a cellular pump called P-glycoprotein to move it out of cells. Lab studies hint that devil's claw might block that pump a bit. In theory, that could let a little more talazoparib build up inside your body, which might mean stronger side effects like low blood counts (fatigue, easy bruising, infections), nausea, or a poor appetite.

I want to be honest about the evidence here, though. This is only test-tube research, not something seen in real patients, so we truly don't know if it matters in practice. Talazoparib is a serious cancer medicine, so please don't add devil's claw without first checking with your oncology team or pharmacist.

Talazoparib (sold as Talzenna) treats two kinds of cancer in adults. Both depend on specific gene changes found through testing.

  • Breast cancer: used alone for HER2-negative locally advanced or metastatic breast cancer with a harmful or suspected harmful inherited (germline) BRCA mutation.
  • Prostate cancer: used together with enzalutamide for metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC) with a mutation in an HRR gene (a DNA repair gene).
