Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
P-GLYCOPROTEIN SUBSTRATES
Why this applies to Betamethasone Dipropionate, Calcipotriene
Betamethasone Dipropionate, Calcipotriene falls under P-GLYCOPROTEIN SUBSTRATES — the group Devil's Claw interacts with.
In vitro research shows that devil's claw inhibits P-glycoprotein, which transports many drugs out of cells. This might increase intracellular levels of P-glycoprotein substrates, although it is unclear if this effect would be clinically important.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the good news first: the products you're asking about, like Enstilar or Wynzora, are creams, foams, or ointments you put on your skin. They work right where you apply them, and very little gets into your bloodstream. The interaction on file is about devil's claw blocking a transporter called P-glycoprotein, which could in theory let more of a drug build up inside cells.
For a topical steroid and vitamin D combo, this concern is almost entirely theoretical and comes only from lab dish studies, not from people. The realistic worry with these creams (thin skin, irritation, or skin color changes with overuse) depends mostly on how much and how long you apply them, not on a supplement. Still, it never hurts to mention your devil's claw to your pharmacist so they have the full picture.
