Loncastuximab Tesirine-Lpyl falls under P-GLYCOPROTEIN SUBSTRATES — the group Devil's Claw interacts with.

Theoretically, devil's claw might increase levels of P-glycoprotein substrates.
In vitro research shows that devil's claw inhibits P-glycoprotein, which transports many drugs out of cells. This might increase intracellular levels of P-glycoprotein substrates, although it is unclear if this effect would be clinically important.

Here's the gist with Zynlonta and devil's claw. In lab dishes, devil's claw seems to block a cellular pump called P-glycoprotein, which normally helps shuttle certain drugs out of cells. The thinking is that if that pump slows down, a little more of a drug could stay inside cells. With Zynlonta, more exposure could in theory mean a bit more of the side effects this medicine is already known for, like low blood counts, fatigue, swelling, rashes, or liver enzyme changes.

I want to be honest about how thin this evidence is. It's only from test-tube work, it's rated minor, and we don't know if it matters in real people. Still, since this is a serious cancer treatment, please run any supplement past your oncology team first.

  • Loncastuximab tesirine-lpyl injection is used to treat a certain type of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma (NHL; a type of cancer that begins in a type of white blood cells that normally fights infection) that did not respond to or has returned after treatment with at least two other cancer treatments. Loncastuximab tesirine-lpyl is in a class of medications called antibody-drug conjugates. It works by killing cancer cells.
