Budesonide, Formoterol falls under CYTOCHROME P450 2C9 (CYP2C9) SUBSTRATES — the group Gymnema interacts with.

Theoretically, gymnema might increase or decrease levels of drugs metabolized by CYP2C9.
Animal research shows that gymnema can induce the CYP2C9 enzyme. In one animal study, gymnema caused a 2.4-fold increase in the clearance of tolbutamide, a CYP2C9 substrate, in rats. In vitro research also shows that gymnema can inhibit CYP2C9.

Here's the honest picture: the interaction on file links gymnema to drugs cleared by a liver enzyme called CYP2C9. With your Symbicort, though, this is mostly theoretical and likely not a big deal. Budesonide is broken down mainly by a different enzyme (CYP3A4), and formoterol isn't a major CYP2C9 drug either, so gymnema's effect on CYP2C9 has little to grab onto here.

On top of that, the evidence is only from lab and animal studies, and the direction isn't even clear (gymnema may speed up or slow down that enzyme). I wouldn't expect changes in your asthma or COPD control, jitteriness, fast heartbeat, or other usual effects from this combo. The bigger thing to watch is gymnema's blood sugar lowering, since inhaled steroids can nudge sugar up. Run it by your pharmacist or doctor first.
