Dasiglucagon Hydrochloride falls under ANTIDIABETES DRUGS — the group Gymnema interacts with.

Theoretically, taking gymnema with antidiabetes drugs might increase the risk of hypoglycemia.
Gymnema reduces blood glucose levels in some human and animal research. In human studies, it has been shown to enhance the blood glucose lowering effects of hypoglycemic drugs. However, other research in adults with prediabetes or metabolic syndrome suggests that gymnema does not reduce fasting levels of blood glucose. Until more is known, monitor blood glucose levels closely.

Here's a twist worth knowing about. Gymnema is generally talked about for lowering blood sugar, but dasiglucagon (Zegalogue) does the opposite. It's an emergency rescue medicine that tells your liver to dump stored sugar into your blood to pull you out of a severe low. So these two pull in opposite directions.

In theory, gymnema could blunt the rescue effect a little, meaning your sugar might not bounce back as fast as expected during an emergency. That said, this is mostly a theoretical concern, and gymnema's blood-sugar effects are inconsistent in studies. Since dasiglucagon is used in true emergencies, never count on a supplement to change how it works. Check your blood sugar closely and loop in your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.

What Is Dasiglucagon Injection Used For?

Brand name: Zegalogue

Zegalogue is used to treat severe hypoglycemia — a dangerously low blood sugar episode — in adults and children aged 6 years and older who have diabetes. Severe hypoglycemia is a medical emergency that requires immediate action.

Zegalogue is not a day-to-day diabetes medicine. It is prescribed as an emergency kit to be on hand in case a person with diabetes becomes unresponsive or cannot safely swallow food or juice to raise their blood sugar.
