Here's the simple version: one part of Synalgos DC is dihydrocodeine, an opioid pain reliever that can make you drowsy and slow your breathing. Some early animal studies hint that jackfruit seeds may have a mild sedating effect of their own. So the concern is that stacking the two could add up, leaving you sleepier, foggier, or more lightheaded than the medicine alone would.

That said, this is a theoretical, lab-and-animal-level idea, not something proven in people. Eating jackfruit as a fruit is very unlikely to cause trouble. Concentrated seed-based supplements are the bigger question mark. If you're considering one, run it past your pharmacist or doctor first, and don't change how you take your medication on your own.

Theoretically, jackfruit latex might increase the risk of bleeding when taken with anticoagulant or antiplatelet drugs.
Jackfruit latex, which is the sap from jackfruit bark, contains chemicals that might increase the risk of bleeding. In vitro research shows that jackfruit latex contains a glycoprotein constituent that prolongs the activated partial thrombin time (aPTT) and reduces the activity of blood coagulation factors XIa and alpha-XIIa. Jackfruit latex also contains a protease constituent that has been shown to have fibrinolytic activity in vitro. Other parts of jackfruit, including the fruit and leaves, have not been shown to contain chemicals with fibrinolytic and anticoagulant activity.

Here's the thing to know about this combo: your medicine Synalgos DC contains aspirin, which already thins the blood a bit by making platelets less sticky. The concern on file is with jackfruit latex, the sap from the bark, which lab studies suggest may slow clotting too. Stacked together, the theory is you could bleed or bruise a little more easily, things like nosebleeds, bleeding gums, or a cut that takes longer to stop.

I want to keep this in perspective. This is based only on test-tube research, not human studies, and it's the latex/sap that's the worry, not the fruit you eat. Enjoying jackfruit as food is very unlikely to be a problem. If you're thinking about a concentrated jackfruit supplement, run it by your pharmacist or doctor first.
