CNS DEPRESSANTS
Why this applies to Belladonna, Caffeine, Ergotamine, Pentobarbital
Belladonna, Caffeine, Ergotamine, Pentobarbital falls under CNS DEPRESSANTS — the group Jackfruit interacts with.
Animal research shows that jackfruit seeds can cause sedation.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Your medicine Micomp PB contains pentobarbital, a barbiturate that calms the nervous system and can make you drowsy. It's paired with belladonna, caffeine, and ergotamine. The concern here is simple: jackfruit seeds may add to that sleepy effect. So on top of the drowsiness pentobarbital already causes, you could feel extra groggy, foggy, or unsteady.
Here's the honest part. This worry comes only from animal studies, not people, so it's theoretical and on the milder side. Eating jackfruit as a normal fruit is very unlikely to matter. Concentrated seed extracts are the real question mark. If you're considering one, please check with your pharmacist or doctor first.

About Jackfruit
What is Jackfruit?
- General nutrition
- Blood sugar support
- Digestive health (fiber)
- Antioxidant support
- Wound care (traditional, latex/leaves)
Jackfruit is a large tropical fruit that is nutritious and safe to eat as a food, offering fiber, vitamin C, potassium, and antioxidants. While its leaves, seeds, and other parts are used in traditional medicine for things like blood sugar and digestion, strong human evidence for these supplement uses is limited. Talk to your pharmacist or doctor before using concentrated jackfruit products for a health condition.
