Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
CNS DEPRESSANTS
Why this applies to Hydrocodone, Pseudoephedrine, Chlorpheniramine
Hydrocodone, Pseudoephedrine, Chlorpheniramine falls under CNS DEPRESSANTS — the group Jackfruit interacts with.
Animal research shows that jackfruit seeds can cause sedation.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the simple version. Zutripro contains hydrocodone (an opioid cough suppressant) plus chlorpheniramine (a sedating antihistamine), and both of those already make people drowsy on their own. The concern with jackfruit is that its seeds may add a little extra sleepiness on top. So in theory you could feel more tired, foggy, or slowed down than usual, with deeper drowsiness or harder-to-shake grogginess.
I want to be honest about how thin this evidence is. The sedation finding comes only from animal studies, not people, and it points to the seeds, not the sweet fruit you'd eat at the dinner table. Enjoying jackfruit as a food is very unlikely to be a problem. If you're using concentrated jackfruit seed products, just run it by your pharmacist or doctor first.

About Jackfruit
What is Jackfruit?
- General nutrition
- Blood sugar support
- Digestive health (fiber)
- Antioxidant support
- Wound care (traditional, latex/leaves)
Jackfruit is a large tropical fruit that is nutritious and safe to eat as a food, offering fiber, vitamin C, potassium, and antioxidants. While its leaves, seeds, and other parts are used in traditional medicine for things like blood sugar and digestion, strong human evidence for these supplement uses is limited. Talk to your pharmacist or doctor before using concentrated jackfruit products for a health condition.
