Jackfruit + Tirofiban
Tirofiban brand name: Aggrastat.
Jackfruit has a moderate interaction with Tirofiban. Theoretically, jackfruit latex might increase the risk of bleeding when taken with anticoagulant or antiplatelet drugs.

Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS
Why this applies to Tirofiban
Tirofiban falls under ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS — the group Jackfruit interacts with.
Jackfruit latex, which is the sap from jackfruit bark, contains chemicals that might increase the risk of bleeding. In vitro research shows that jackfruit latex contains a glycoprotein constituent that prolongs the activated partial thrombin time (aPTT) and reduces the activity of blood coagulation factors XIa and alpha-XIIa. Jackfruit latex also contains a protease constituent that has been shown to have fibrinolytic activity in vitro. Other parts of jackfruit, including the fruit and leaves, have not been shown to contain chemicals with fibrinolytic and anticoagulant activity.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the thing to know: Tirofiban (Aggrastat) is already a strong antiplatelet medicine given through an IV in the hospital, usually during heart procedures or for certain heart attacks. Its whole job is to keep platelets from clumping, so bleeding is the main risk doctors watch for.
The concern with jackfruit is very narrow. It's the latex (the sap from the bark), not the fruit you eat, that contains compounds shown in lab dishes to thin the blood and slow clotting. Stacking that on top of tirofiban could, in theory, add to bleeding risk (think easy bruising, nosebleeds, or bleeding that's slow to stop). But this is only test-tube evidence, and eating jackfruit as food has not shown this effect. Since tirofiban is hospital-given, just let your care team know about any supplements you take.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Tirofiban page
“Danshen, an herb taken for heart and circulation problems, tops my concerns for anyone receiving tirofiban (Aggrastat). Tirofiban is an intravenous antiplatelet drug used during heart attacks and cardiac procedures to keep platelets from clumping, so a supplement that also thins the blood compounds the one danger that matters here, ser…”

About Jackfruit
What is Jackfruit?
- General nutrition
- Blood sugar support
- Digestive health (fiber)
- Antioxidant support
- Wound care (traditional, latex/leaves)
Jackfruit is a large tropical fruit that is nutritious and safe to eat as a food, offering fiber, vitamin C, potassium, and antioxidants. While its leaves, seeds, and other parts are used in traditional medicine for things like blood sugar and digestion, strong human evidence for these supplement uses is limited. Talk to your pharmacist or doctor before using concentrated jackfruit products for a health condition.
About Tirofiban
What Is Tirofiban Used For?
Brand name: Aggrastat
Tirofiban is used to reduce the rate of thrombotic cardiovascular events in people with non-ST elevation acute coronary syndrome (NSTE-ACS). That means a combined outcome of death, heart attack (myocardial infarction), or ongoing heart blood-flow problems that need another cardiac procedure.
The same use applies to Aggrastat and to the tirofiban hydrochloride injection products.
