Lenacapavir falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Jequirity interacts with.

In vitro research shows that jequirity extract inhibits CYP3A4 enzymes. Theoretically, taking jequirity may inhibit the metabolism of CYP3A4 substrates.

Before we even get to the drug science, the bigger issue here is the supplement itself. Jequirity seeds contain abrin, one of the most poisonous plant proteins known, very similar to ricin. It is not safe to take as a supplement at all, so my honest advice is to steer clear of it completely, no matter what medications you are on.

On the interaction itself, the only evidence is a lab (test tube) study suggesting jequirity can slow down the CYP3A4 enzyme. Lenacapavir (Sunlenca), your long-acting HIV medicine, is partly handled by CYP3A4 and is not a prodrug, so in theory blocking that enzyme could let levels creep up a bit. But this is theoretical only and rated unlikely. The real concern is the toxin. Please check with your pharmacist or doctor before using anything new.

Jequirity (Abrus precatorius) is a tropical plant whose bright red, black-tipped seeds contain abrin, one of the most toxic plant proteins known. Despite a long history in traditional medicine, the seeds are dangerously poisonous and there is no reliable evidence that it is safe or effective. It should not be used as a supplement or medicine.

About Lenacapavir Oral

What Is Lenacapavir Oral Used For?

Brand name: Sunlenca

Sunlenca tablets are used in two situations: to treat HIV-1 infection in adults whose virus has become resistant to multiple antiretroviral drugs and whose current regimen is failing — always in combination with other antiretrovirals — and as a short oral loading dose to start the BIXLENVO complete HIV-1 treatment regimen in adults who are already virologically suppressed (virus undetectable) and switching from a stable antiretroviral regimen.

Yeztugo tablets are used as part of HIV-1 pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) — helping HIV-negative people reduce their risk of getting HIV-1. The oral tablet form is used during initiation of Yeztugo, and also as a temporary oral bridge if a scheduled injection must be delayed more than two weeks.
