Cablivi falls under ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS — the group Jequirity interacts with.

Evidence from in vitro research suggests that constituents of jequirity beans can inhibit platelet aggregation. Theoretically, jequirity might increase the risk of bleeding when used with antiplatelet or anticoagulant drugs. Some anticoagulant or antiplatelet drugs include aspirin, clopidogrel (Plavix), dalteparin (Fragmin), enoxaparin (Lovenox), heparin, ticlopidine (Ticlid), warfarin (Coumadin), and others.

First, a big safety note: jequirity seeds are genuinely poisonous (they contain abrin, a toxin similar to ricin), so they shouldn't be used as a supplement at all, no matter what else you take.

Now to the interaction itself. Cablivi (caplacizumab) already raises your bleeding risk on its own, since it blocks part of the clotting process to treat aTTP. Lab studies hint that jequirity may also keep platelets from clumping, so combining the two could, in theory, make bleeding easier (think nosebleeds, easy bruising, bleeding gums, or harder-to-stop cuts). I want to be honest that this is theoretical, based only on test-tube data, not real patient cases. Even so, with a serious drug like Cablivi, please run anything you're considering past your doctor or pharmacist first.

What Is Caplacizumab-yhdp Injection Used For?

Brand name: Cablivi

  • Caplacizumab-yhdp injection is used to treat acquired thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura (aTTP; a disorder in which the body attacks itself and causes clots, low amounts of platelets and red blood cells, and could cause other serious complications) in combination with plasma exchange therapy and immunosuppressant medications. Caplacizumab-yhdp is in a class of medications called antithrombotic agents. It works by blocking the action of a certain substance in the body that causes the symptoms of aTTP.
