Tramadol falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Jequirity interacts with.

In vitro research shows that jequirity extract inhibits CYP3A4 enzymes. Theoretically, taking jequirity may inhibit the metabolism of CYP3A4 substrates.

First things first: jequirity seeds are genuinely poisonous (they contain abrin, a toxin much like ricin), so this is not something I'd ever want you taking as a supplement, no matter what medication you're on. Please leave it on the shelf.

As for the drug angle, lab studies suggest jequirity can block CYP3A4, one of the liver enzymes that helps process tramadol. In theory, slowing that pathway could let tramadol linger a bit longer, which might nudge up side effects like drowsiness, dizziness, nausea, or constipation. But this is only a test-tube finding, rated as weak evidence and unlikely to matter in real life. The bigger concern by far is jequirity's toxicity. If you have questions, check with your pharmacist or doctor.
