Aripiprazole falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Jequirity interacts with.

In vitro research shows that jequirity extract inhibits CYP3A4 enzymes. Theoretically, taking jequirity may inhibit the metabolism of CYP3A4 substrates.

Let me start with the most important thing: jequirity is genuinely poisonous. Its seeds contain abrin, a toxin in the same family as ricin, so this isn't a supplement you should be taking at all, full stop. Please don't use it with aripiprazole (Abilify) or anything else.

On the specific interaction, here's the idea. Aripiprazole is partly cleared by a liver enzyme called CYP3A4. In a lab dish, jequirity extract slowed that enzyme down. If that happened in your body, aripiprazole could build up a bit, possibly making side effects like drowsiness, restlessness, dizziness, or shakiness more likely. But this is only test-tube data, rated very weak, and it's considered unlikely to matter in real life. Still, always run any supplement past your pharmacist or doctor first.
