Ubrogepant falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Jequirity interacts with.

In vitro research shows that jequirity extract inhibits CYP3A4 enzymes. Theoretically, taking jequirity may inhibit the metabolism of CYP3A4 substrates.

Here's the basic idea with Ubrelvy (ubrogepant). Your liver uses an enzyme called CYP3A4 to clear this migraine medicine out of your body. In lab dish testing, jequirity extract appeared to slow that same enzyme down. If that held true in a real person, ubrogepant could linger longer and build up, which might mean stronger side effects like nausea, sleepiness, or dry mouth.

That said, this is only a theoretical concern from test-tube research, rated minor and unlikely, so I wouldn't lose sleep over it. The far bigger issue is that jequirity seeds contain abrin, a severe poison, and shouldn't be taken at all. Please skip it and chat with your pharmacist or doctor before combining anything new with Ubrelvy.

Ubrelvy is not a preventive migraine medication. It is not approved for use in children.
