This combination pill contains aspirin, which is the piece that matters here. Aspirin is a blood thinner that keeps platelets from clumping. Jiaogulan appears, at least in lab tests, to have a mild blood-thinning effect of its own. So putting the two together could add up and make it a little easier to bruise or bleed. Think along the lines of nosebleeds, bleeding gums, or cuts that take longer to stop.

I want to be honest about the evidence though: this is based only on test-tube and animal research, not real patients, so it's more of a theoretical caution than a proven problem. Still, before you start jiaogulan with this medicine, give your pharmacist or doctor a quick call so they can keep an eye on you.
