Here's the simple version: both melatonin and flurazepam can make you drowsy, so using them together may pile that sleepiness on top of each other. Flurazepam already slows brain activity to help you sleep, and melatonin adds its own gentle "it's nighttime" nudge. Combined, you might feel extra groggy, foggy in the morning, dizzy, or more unsteady on your feet, which raises the risk of a stumble or fall, especially for older folks.

I'll be honest, this concern is mostly theoretical, based on how each one works rather than strong studies. It's not dangerous for most people, but since flurazepam is already a sleep medicine, doubling up on sedation isn't always needed. Check with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.

Flurazepam Hydrochloride capsules are used to treat insomnia. Specifically, they help with difficulty falling asleep, frequent wake-ups during the night, and early morning awakening.

Because insomnia is often short-lived, flurazepam is generally intended for short-term use. If sleep problems don't improve within 7 to 10 days of treatment, a healthcare provider should evaluate whether an underlying medical or psychiatric condition may be the cause.
