Cyclobenzaprine falls under CYTOCHROME P450 2D6 (CYP2D6) SUBSTRATES — the group N,n-dmpea interacts with.

In vitro research shows that N,N-DMPEA strongly inhibits cytochrome P450 2D6 (CYP2D6). Theoretically, concomitant use with drugs metabolized by CYP2D6 might increase the risk for adverse effects from these drugs.
Some drugs metabolized by CYP2D6 include amitriptyline (Elavil), clozapine (Clozaril), codeine, desipramine (Norpramin), donepezil (Aricept), fentanyl (Duragesic), flecainide (Tambocor), fluoxetine (Prozac), meperidine (Demerol), methadone (Dolophine), metoprolol (Lopressor, Toprol XL), olanzapine (Zyprexa), ondansetron (Zofran), tramadol (Ultram), trazodone (Desyrel), and others.

Here's the gist for cyclobenzaprine (Flexeril): part of how your body clears this muscle relaxant runs through a liver enzyme called CYP2D6. In lab dish testing, N,N-DMPEA appears to block that enzyme strongly. If that blocking happens in real people too, cyclobenzaprine could clear out more slowly and build up, which may amplify its usual effects, mainly drowsiness, dizziness, dry mouth, and that foggy, sluggish feeling.

I want to be honest about the strength of this, though. The evidence is only test-tube data, not human studies, and N,N-DMPEA itself is poorly researched. So this is more theoretical caution than a proven problem. Since this supplement is also a stimulant of sorts, I'd run the combo by your pharmacist or doctor before mixing them.

What Is Cyclobenzaprine Used For?

Brand names: Cyclobenzaprine, Flexeril, Cycloprine

Cyclobenzaprine tablets and extended-release capsules are used alongside rest and physical therapy to relieve muscle spasm caused by acute, painful musculoskeletal conditions — easing pain, tenderness, and limited movement. This use is intended for short-term treatment only (up to 2–3 weeks).

Tonmya, the sublingual (under-the-tongue) form of cyclobenzaprine, is separately indicated for the treatment of fibromyalgia in adults. It is not the same as the oral tablet or capsule formulations.
