Tolterodine falls under CYTOCHROME P450 2D6 (CYP2D6) SUBSTRATES — the group N,n-dmpea interacts with.

In vitro research shows that N,N-DMPEA strongly inhibits cytochrome P450 2D6 (CYP2D6). Theoretically, concomitant use with drugs metabolized by CYP2D6 might increase the risk for adverse effects from these drugs.
Some drugs metabolized by CYP2D6 include amitriptyline (Elavil), clozapine (Clozaril), codeine, desipramine (Norpramin), donepezil (Aricept), fentanyl (Duragesic), flecainide (Tambocor), fluoxetine (Prozac), meperidine (Demerol), methadone (Dolophine), metoprolol (Lopressor, Toprol XL), olanzapine (Zyprexa), ondansetron (Zofran), tramadol (Ultram), trazodone (Desyrel), and others.

Here's the gist for your Detrol (tolterodine). Your liver uses an enzyme called CYP2D6 to help break this medication down. In lab testing, N,N-DMPEA appears to block that same enzyme. If it does the same thing in real life, tolterodine could clear more slowly and build up in your system, which may turn up its typical side effects. Think dry mouth, constipation, blurry vision, dizziness, or a faster heartbeat.

I want to be honest about the strength of this, though. It's based only on test-tube research, not on real people, and N,N-DMPEA itself is barely studied. So treat this as a theoretical caution, not a sure thing. Since this is guesswork right now, please run it by your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.

Tolterodine — available as tablets (including Detrol and Tolterodine Tartrate tablets) and extended-release capsules (including Detrol LA and Tolterodine Tartrate extended-release capsules) — is prescribed for overactive bladder. It targets three main symptoms: a sudden, hard-to-control urge to urinate (urgency), urinating too often (frequency), and leaking urine when that urge hits (urge urinary incontinence).
