Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
CYTOCHROME P450 2D6 (CYP2D6) SUBSTRATES
Why this applies to Dextromethorphan, Methscopolamine, Phenylephrine
Dextromethorphan, Methscopolamine, Phenylephrine falls under CYTOCHROME P450 2D6 (CYP2D6) SUBSTRATES — the group N,n-dmpea interacts with.
Some drugs metabolized by CYP2D6 include amitriptyline (Elavil), clozapine (Clozaril), codeine, desipramine (Norpramin), donepezil (Aricept), fentanyl (Duragesic), flecainide (Tambocor), fluoxetine (Prozac), meperidine (Demerol), methadone (Dolophine), metoprolol (Lopressor, Toprol XL), olanzapine (Zyprexa), ondansetron (Zofran), tramadol (Ultram), trazodone (Desyrel), and others.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the piece that matters in your combo product: dextromethorphan (the cough suppressant) is cleared from your body mainly by a liver enzyme called CYP2D6. In lab studies, N,N-DMPEA appears to block that enzyme. If that holds true in people, dextromethorphan could build up instead of being broken down normally, which can mean more dizziness, drowsiness, or feeling foggy or jittery. Active dextromethorphan also has serotonin effects, so higher levels raise the small risk of agitation or restlessness.
I'll be honest: this is based only on test-tube data, not real human studies, and N,N-DMPEA itself is poorly researched. I wouldn't panic, but since pre-workout stimulants and decongestants like phenylephrine can both rev you up anyway, please run this past your pharmacist before combining them.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Dextromethorphan, Methscopolamine, Phenylephrine page
“Dextromethorphan with methscopolamine and phenylephrine (DA Chewable) packs a cough suppressant, a drying agent, and a decongestant into one tablet, which gives supplements several distinct ways to cause trouble, so I treat this as a list deserving real caution. Grapefruit can drive levels of the drug up by blocking its breakdown, St.”

About N,n-dmpea
What is N,n-dmpea?
- Mood or energy support
- Pre-workout or stimulant effect
- Cognitive or focus support
N,N-DMPEA (N,N-dimethylphenethylamine) is a synthetic relative of phenethylamine sometimes marketed in stimulant or pre-workout supplements. There is very little reliable human research on its effects or safety, and it is not a well-established dietary ingredient, so it should be approached with real caution.
