Periwinkle + Oxprenolol
Oxprenolol brand names: Slow Trasicor, Trasicor.
Periwinkle has a moderate interaction with Oxprenolol. Theoretically, taking periwinkle may increase the effects of antihypertensive drugs due to the hypotensive activity of vincamine, a constituent of periwinkle.

ANTIHYPERTENSIVE DRUGS
Why this applies to Oxprenolol
Oxprenolol falls under ANTIHYPERTENSIVE DRUGS — the group Periwinkle interacts with.
Interaction has not been documented in well-controlled studies, however, the interaction has been demonstrated in some small human studies or in controlled animal studies in conjunction with multiple case reports..
Here's the thing to know if you take Oxprenolol (Trasicor), a beta-blocker that helps lower blood pressure and steady your heart rate. Periwinkle contains a compound called vincamine, which lab and animal studies suggest can relax and widen blood vessels, gently nudging blood pressure down on its own.
So if you pair the two, the worry is simply additive: your blood pressure could drop a little lower than expected. That might leave you feeling dizzy, lightheaded, tired, or wobbly when you stand up quickly. Keep in mind this is a theoretical concern based on how periwinkle behaves, not on strong human studies, so the real-world risk is probably modest. Still, before adding periwinkle, please check with your pharmacist or doctor first.

About Periwinkle
What is Periwinkle?
- Memory and cognitive support
- Circulation problems
- Dizziness and ringing in the ears
- Minor wounds and sore throat (traditional)
- High blood pressure (traditional)
Periwinkle (Vinca minor) is a flowering plant whose alkaloids are the source of vinpocetine, a compound marketed for memory and brain circulation. Evidence in humans is limited and mixed, and the plant contains potent compounds that can be toxic in larger amounts, so it should be used only with professional guidance. A closely related plant, Madagascar periwinkle, is the source of important cancer chemotherapy drugs but is not safe to use as a home remedy.

Oxprenolol Is Linked to Lower Levels of One Nutrient
Natural Medicines records Oxprenolol as a medicine that can lower these. This is not an interaction with Periwinkle — it is a separate effect of the medicine, and it is a reason some people are advised to supplement rather than to avoid one:
