Here's the gist: your perindopril (Aceon) works by blocking an enzyme called ACE, which relaxes your blood vessels and brings your pressure down. Interestingly, one small study found that a single cup of rooibos tea (about 400 mL) also nudged that same ACE enzyme downward. So in theory, sipping rooibos alongside perindopril could add a little extra blood-pressure-lowering on top of your medication.

What might that look like in real life? Possibly more of perindopril's usual effects, like feeling lightheaded, dizzy when standing up, or unusually tired. To be clear, this is theoretical, based on how things work rather than strong proof, and an occasional cup of tea is unlikely to cause trouble. Still, if you drink rooibos daily or use concentrated extracts, mention it to your pharmacist or doctor so they can keep an eye on your readings.

What Is Perindopril Used For?

Perindopril Erbumine tablets are used to treat essential hypertension (high blood pressure). They can be used alone or combined with other blood pressure medicines, particularly thiazide diuretics.

Perindopril Erbumine tablets are also used in adults with stable coronary artery disease to lower the risk of dying from a cardiovascular cause or having a nonfatal heart attack. They can be used alongside other standard coronary artery disease treatments such as antiplatelet, blood pressure, or cholesterol-lowering therapy.
