Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
IMMUNOSUPPRESSANTS
Why this applies to Copanlisib
Copanlisib falls under IMMUNOSUPPRESSANTS — the group Umckaloabo interacts with.
In vitro research suggests that Pelargonium sidoides has immunostimulant effects.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the idea behind this pairing. Copanlisib (Aliqopa) is a cancer medicine that, along with fighting your lymphoma, can quiet down parts of the immune system. Umckaloabo, on the other hand, has shown in lab dishes that it may rev the immune system up a little. So on paper, the two could pull in opposite directions, and the concern is that the supplement might slightly work against what your treatment is trying to do.
I want to be honest about how soft this is. This warning is purely theoretical, based on test-tube studies, not on real patients taking both. We don't have proof it actually weakens copanlisib. Still, since you're dealing with a serious cancer therapy, I wouldn't add Umckaloabo on your own. Please run it by your oncologist or pharmacist first so nothing undercuts your treatment.
