Apixaban falls under ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS — the group Umckaloabo interacts with.

Theoretically, Pelargonium sidoides might increase the risk of bleeding when taken with anticoagulant and antiplatelet drugs.
Pelargonium sidoides contains coumarin, which may reduce platelet aggregation. However, in animal models, Pelargonium sidoides extract does not appear to inhibit coagulation or interact with warfarin. This interaction has not been documented in humans.

Here's the gist with Eliquis (apixaban) and Umckaloabo. Apixaban is already a blood thinner, working directly to block a clotting factor called factor Xa. Umckaloabo contains small amounts of coumarin-type plant compounds that, in theory, might make platelets a little less sticky. Stack a mild blood-thinning effect on top of a real one and you could, in theory, nudge your bleeding risk up a bit.

That said, I want to keep this in perspective. This concern comes from lab and animal work, and it has not been seen in people. Animal studies didn't even show it affecting clotting. So the chance is low. Still, watch for unusual bruising, nosebleeds, or bleeding gums, and check with your pharmacist or doctor before adding it.

Some clinical research suggests it may help symptoms resolve a bit faster, but the quality of evidence is mixed and it is not a cure. About Apixaban

What Is Apixaban Used For?

Brand name: Eliquis

Apixaban is used to reduce the risk of stroke and dangerous clots traveling through the body in adults with nonvalvular atrial fibrillation (an irregular heart rhythm not caused by a heart valve problem). It is also used to prevent deep vein thrombosis (DVT — a blood clot in the leg) in adults after hip or knee replacement surgery, and to treat DVT and pulmonary embolism (PE — a blood clot in the lungs) in adults, including reducing the risk of those clots coming back.

Eliquis (the brand-name tablet and kit) is additionally approved to treat venous thromboembolism (VTE — blood clots in the veins) and reduce the risk of recurrent VTE in pediatric patients from birth and older, after at least 5 days of initial anticoagulant treatment. The generic apixaban tablet carries the adult indications only.
