Dalteparin falls under ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS — the group Umckaloabo interacts with.

Theoretically, Pelargonium sidoides might increase the risk of bleeding when taken with anticoagulant and antiplatelet drugs.
Pelargonium sidoides contains coumarin, which may reduce platelet aggregation. However, in animal models, Pelargonium sidoides extract does not appear to inhibit coagulation or interact with warfarin. This interaction has not been documented in humans.

Here's the short version on pairing Umckaloabo with dalteparin (Fragmin). Dalteparin is an injectable blood thinner, and Umckaloabo contains small amounts of coumarin-type compounds that, in theory, might make platelets a little less sticky. Stack those two together and the worry is a slightly higher chance of bruising or bleeding.

I want to be honest with you, though: this is a theoretical concern only. It's based on the plant's chemistry, not on real cases in people. In fact, animal studies didn't show the extract thinning the blood or interacting with warfarin. So the actual risk looks low. Still, since dalteparin already lowers clotting on its own, keep an eye out for unusual bruising, nosebleeds, or bleeding that won't stop, and run this combination by your pharmacist or doctor first.

Umckaloabo is a root extract from a South African geranium that is most studied for short-term relief of acute bronchitis and other respiratory infections. Some clinical research suggests it may help symptoms resolve a bit faster, but the quality of evidence is mixed and it is not a cure. About Dalteparin Injection

What Is Dalteparin Injection Used For?

Brand name: Fragmin

Fragmin (dalteparin) injection is used to prevent blood clots (deep vein thrombosis, or DVT) in people having hip replacement or abdominal surgery, and in hospitalized patients who are largely immobile due to acute illness. It is also used to reduce ischemic complications — meaning clot-related events — in people with unstable angina or a type of heart attack called non-Q-wave MI, when given alongside aspirin.

Fragmin is approved for the extended treatment of symptomatic venous thromboembolism (VTE — blood clots in the veins or lungs) in adults with cancer, to reduce the chance of clots coming back, for up to six months. It is also approved to treat symptomatic VTE in pediatric patients from birth (at least 35 weeks gestational age) onward. Fragmin is not intended for the acute (immediate emergency) treatment of VTE.
