Clopidogrel falls under ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS — the group Umckaloabo interacts with.

Theoretically, Pelargonium sidoides might increase the risk of bleeding when taken with anticoagulant and antiplatelet drugs.
Pelargonium sidoides contains coumarin, which may reduce platelet aggregation. However, in animal models, Pelargonium sidoides extract does not appear to inhibit coagulation or interact with warfarin. This interaction has not been documented in humans.

Here's the gist of it. Clopidogrel (Plavix) already works by keeping your platelets from clumping together, which helps prevent dangerous clots after a stroke, heart attack, or stent placement. Umckaloabo (from the South African geranium Pelargonium sidoides) contains small amounts of coumarin-type compounds that might, in theory, also nudge platelets toward being a bit less sticky. Stacking the two could, on paper, raise your bleeding risk slightly.

I want to be honest with you though: this is a theoretical concern based on lab chemistry, not something seen in real people. Animal studies didn't even show a clotting effect. Still, since Plavix is a blood thinner, watch for easy bruising, nosebleeds, or bleeding that won't stop, and check with your pharmacist or doctor before adding it.

What Is Clopidogrel Used For?

Brand name: Plavix

Clopidogrel tablets are used to reduce the risk of heart attack and stroke in people with acute coronary syndrome (ACS) — including unstable angina and non-ST-elevation or ST-elevation heart attacks — and in people with a history of recent heart attack, recent stroke, or established peripheral arterial disease. For ACS, it is typically given alongside aspirin.

It works by preventing platelets (blood cells that trigger clotting) from clumping together, which helps keep arteries open and lowers the chance of a dangerous clot forming.
