Cortisone Acetate falls under IMMUNOSUPPRESSANTS — the group Umckaloabo interacts with.

Theoretically, Pelargonium sidoides might decrease the effectiveness of immunosuppressant therapy.

Here's the idea behind this one. Cortisone acetate is a steroid that, among other things, calms down an overactive immune system. Umckaloabo (from the South African geranium) seems to do the opposite in lab dishes, it appears to rev up certain immune cells. So in theory, taking the two together could work against each other and make the cortisone a little less effective at keeping inflammation or an immune response in check.

I want to be upfront: this concern is theoretical, based only on test-tube research, not real patient cases. For most people taking cortisone short-term, it likely won't be a big deal. But if you rely on cortisone for a serious condition, please check with your pharmacist or doctor before adding this supplement.
