Boceprevir falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) INHIBITORS — the group Adrafinil interacts with.

Theoretically, drugs that inhibit CYP3A4 might increase the levels and clinical effects of adrafinil.
Adrafinil is a precursor to the stimulant prescription drug modafinil. Modafinil is metabolized by CYP3A4.

Here's the connection worth knowing. Once your liver turns adrafinil into modafinil, the body relies on an enzyme called CYP3A4 to clear that modafinil out. Boceprevir is a strong blocker of CYP3A4, so it can slow down how fast modafinil is broken down. The likely result is more modafinil hanging around, which means stronger stimulant effects (trouble sleeping, a racing or pounding heartbeat, headache, jitteriness, anxiety, or higher blood pressure).

Keep in mind this is a theoretical concern based on how the drugs work, not on real-world reports, so I don't want to overstate it. Still, adrafinil is unregulated and tough on the liver, and you'd be taking it during hepatitis C treatment. Please run this by your doctor or pharmacist before combining them.

Here's the gist: your body turns adrafinil into modafinil, and modafinil can gently speed up a liver enzyme called CYP3A4. Boceprevir happens to be cleared partly by that same enzyme. So in theory, taking adrafinil could nudge your body to break down boceprevir a bit faster, which might lower its levels in your blood.

Why that matters: boceprevir's whole job is to keep the hepatitis C virus suppressed. If its levels dip, the worry is weaker antiviral effect and a harder time controlling the virus. I'll be honest though, this concern is theoretical and based on pharmacology, not real-world reports. Still, this is a serious infection to treat, so please loop in your doctor or pharmacist before combining them.
