Here's the gist with this cough and cold combo (which mixes dextromethorphan for cough, methscopolamine to dry secretions, and phenylephrine as a decongestant). Adrafinil turns into modafinil in your body, and modafinil can gently speed up a liver enzyme called CYP3A4. Since this enzyme helps break down these ingredients, the theory is that they might clear a little faster and feel slightly less effective, so you may notice your cough or congestion isn't as well controlled.

Honestly, this is a theoretical concern only. It's based on how the drugs work on paper, not on real cases, and modafinil is only a weak inducer. I wouldn't lose sleep over an occasional over-the-counter dose, but since adrafinil itself is unregulated and hard on the liver, please run it by your pharmacist or doctor first.

Here's the gist of this combo. Once your liver turns adrafinil into modafinil, you've got a wakefulness booster on board. Your cold medicine also has a stimulant-type ingredient, phenylephrine, which is a decongestant that tightens blood vessels. Stacking the two could add up, so you might notice a faster heartbeat, jitteriness, higher blood pressure, trouble sleeping, or feeling wired.

This is a theoretical concern based on how the ingredients work, not something proven in studies, so I don't want to overstate it. Still, the methscopolamine in your product can also raise heart rate, and adrafinil itself is unregulated and hard on the liver. Before mixing these, please check with your pharmacist or doctor.
