Adrafinil is a precursor to the stimulant prescription drug modafinil. Modafinil has been shown to weakly induce CYP1A2 activity in vitro.

Here's the situation with these two. Levobupivacaine (Chirocaine) is a local anesthetic, the kind of numbing medication a doctor injects to block pain during surgery or labor. Your liver partly clears it using an enzyme called CYP1A2. Adrafinil turns into modafinil in your body, and modafinil may mildly speed up that same enzyme. In theory, that could clear levobupivacaine a little faster and slightly shorten or weaken the numbing effect.

I want to be honest about how soft this evidence is. It comes only from lab studies, not real patients, and the effect is described as weak. On top of that, levobupivacaine is given by a medical team in a controlled setting, so they can adjust as needed. Still, mention any supplements, including adrafinil, to your doctor or pharmacist beforehand.

Here's the basic idea with these two. Levobupivacaine (Chirocaine) is a local anesthetic, the kind of numbing medicine a doctor injects to block pain during surgery or a procedure. Your liver partly clears it using an enzyme called CYP3A4. Adrafinil turns into modafinil in your body, and modafinil can gently speed up that same enzyme.

In theory, that could clear levobupivacaine a little faster and make the numbing effect wear off sooner or feel weaker. I want to be honest though: this is a theoretical concern based on how the drugs work, not real-world reports, and modafinil's effect on this enzyme is weak. Since levobupivacaine is given by a clinician anyway, just tell them you take adrafinil so they can adjust if needed.
