Theoretically, drugs that inhibit CYP3A4 might increase the levels and clinical effects of adrafinil.
Adrafinil is a precursor to the stimulant prescription drug modafinil. Modafinil is metabolized by CYP3A4.

Here's the gist if you're combining these two. Maribavir (Livtencity) is an antiviral used to treat cytomegalovirus (CMV) infections, and one thing it does in the body is gently block an enzyme called CYP3A4. That same enzyme is the one that clears modafinil, which is what your liver turns adrafinil into. So in theory, maribavir could slow the breakdown of modafinil and let it build up a bit more than usual.

What that might feel like is too much stimulation: trouble sleeping, a racing or pounding heart, jitteriness, headache, or feeling anxious. I want to be honest though, this is a theoretical concern based on how the drugs work, not something proven in studies. Please loop in your doctor or pharmacist before mixing these, especially since adrafinil is unregulated and hard on the liver.

Here's the gist for Maribavir (Livtencity), which is the antiviral pill used to treat cytomegalovirus (CMV) infections that haven't responded to other treatments. Your liver clears maribavir partly through an enzyme called CYP3A4. Adrafinil turns into modafinil in your body, and modafinil can mildly speed up that enzyme. In theory, that could push maribavir out of your system a bit faster and lower its levels.

Why that matters: weaker maribavir could mean it doesn't control the CMV infection as well, which is the whole point of taking it. I'll be honest though, this is a theoretical concern based on how the drugs work, not from real patient studies, and modafinil's effect on this enzyme is weak. Still, since fighting CMV is serious business, please run this by your doctor or pharmacist before combining them.
