Captopril, Hydrochlorothiazide falls under DIURETIC DRUGS — the group Apple Cider Vinegar interacts with.

Theoretically, concomitant use of apple cider vinegar with diuretic drugs might increase the risk of hypokalemia.
A case of hypokalemia related to chronic use of apple cider vinegar has been reported. There is some concern that people taking apple cider vinegar along with potassium depleting diuretics might have an increased risk for hypokalemia.

Here's the thing to keep an eye on with your Capozide. The hydrochlorothiazide part is a 'water pill' that already nudges your body to lose potassium in the urine. There's a worry that apple cider vinegar, taken regularly in large amounts, might pull potassium down a little further. If potassium drops too low, you can feel muscle cramps, weakness, tiredness, or even an irregular heartbeat.

Now, I want to keep this in perspective. This concern rests on a single case report and theory, not solid proof, so it's possible, not a sure thing. A splash of vinegar on a salad is very unlikely to matter. Concentrated daily supplement doses are where I'd pay attention. Please don't change anything on your own. Just mention it to your pharmacist or doctor, and they can check your potassium with a simple blood test.

What Is Captopril and Hydrochlorothiazide Used For?

Brand names: Capozide, Acezide

Captopril and hydrochlorothiazide tablets are used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). The two ingredients work together to lower blood pressure more effectively than either one alone.

This combination may be started as initial therapy or substituted when a patient has already been adjusted on both ingredients separately. It is approved for patients with normal kidney function, and is used more cautiously in those with impaired kidney function.
