Fenfluamine falls under CYTOCHROME P450 1A2 (CYP1A2) SUBSTRATES — the group Bacopa interacts with.

Theoretically, bacopa might increase the levels and adverse effects of CYP1A2 substrates.
Research on the effects of bacopa extracts on CYP1A2 enzymes is conflicting. Some in vitro evidence shows that bacopa extract can moderately and non-competitively inhibit CYP1A2, while other in vitro evidence suggests that any effect is unlikely to be clinically significant.

Here's the gist for Fintepla (fenfluramine). Your child's body partly clears this seizure medicine using a liver enzyme called CYP1A2. In lab dish studies, bacopa has shown a possible ability to slow that enzyme down. If that happened in real life, fenfluramine could build up a little, which might mean more of its known side effects like drowsiness, low appetite, tiredness, or, less commonly, heart and blood pressure changes that doctors already watch closely.

I want to be honest with you though: this is theoretical. It comes only from test-tube research, and even that evidence conflicts. Fenfluramine isn't a prodrug, so it isn't flipped the other way. Because Dravet and LGS care is so carefully managed, just run the bacopa idea past your neurologist or pharmacist before adding it.

Bacopa is an Ayurvedic herb most often used for memory and thinking. Some small studies suggest it may modestly help memory when taken regularly for several weeks, but the evidence is limited and quality varies. What Is Fenfluramine Used For?

Brand name: Fintepla

Fintepla (fenfluramine oral solution) is approved to treat seizures associated with Dravet syndrome (DS) and Lennox-Gastaut syndrome (LGS) in patients 2 years of age and older. It is used alongside other antiseizure medications.

Both conditions are severe, often hard-to-control forms of epilepsy that typically begin in childhood. Fintepla is available only through a restricted program called the Fintepla REMS because of serious heart-related risks.
