Here's the simple version: betony has been thought to gently lower blood pressure on its own. Since betaxolol is already working to bring your blood pressure and heart rate down, pairing the two could add up. In theory, that might leave you a little too low, showing up as dizziness, lightheadedness when you stand, unusual tiredness, or a slow pulse.

I want to be honest about how solid this is. This warning is theoretical, based on how betony's plant compounds might behave, not on real studies in people. So it's something to be aware of, not panic over. What Is Betaxolol Used For?

Brand names: Kerlone, Betoptic

Betaxolol eye drops (including Betoptic S) are used to lower elevated intraocular pressure (pressure inside the eye) in people with chronic open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension (high eye pressure without glaucoma). The eye drops may be used alone or alongside other glaucoma medications.

Betaxolol tablets are used to manage high blood pressure (hypertension). They can be used on their own or combined with other blood pressure medications, particularly thiazide-type diuretics.
