Broccoli + Clomipramine
Clomipramine brand names: Anafranil, Anafranil SR.
Broccoli has a moderate interaction with Clomipramine. Theoretically, broccoli might reduce the levels and effects of drugs metabolized by CYP1A2.

Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
CYTOCHROME P450 1A2 (CYP1A2) SUBSTRATES
Why this applies to Clomipramine
Clomipramine falls under CYTOCHROME P450 1A2 (CYP1A2) SUBSTRATES — the group Broccoli interacts with.
Pharmacokinetic research in humans shows that eating 500 grams of fresh broccoli daily for 6-12 days can increase CYP1A2 activity by 10% to 200%. Induction of CYP1A2 activity by broccoli is attributed to its glucosinolate constituents.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the deal with broccoli and your clomipramine. Your body relies on a liver enzyme called CYP1A2 to break this medicine down. Eating large amounts of broccoli (the research used about 500 grams of fresh broccoli daily for a week or more) can rev up that enzyme, which may clear clomipramine out of your system a bit faster. In plain terms, that could nudge your levels down and make the medicine work less well for your OCD symptoms.
Honestly, this is mostly theoretical and based on weaker evidence, and a normal serving of broccoli with dinner is very unlikely to matter. Concentrated broccoli supplements or huge daily portions are where I'd pay attention. Don't change anything on your own, just mention it to your pharmacist or doctor.

Every interaction above is graded three ways — here’s the key to each label.
Clinically significant. Avoid the combination, or use only under close professional supervision.
Usually worth avoiding or managing — may need monitoring, a dose change, or timing apart.
Generally not serious. Be aware of it and mention it to your pharmacist.

- ProbableInteraction has not been documented in well-controlled studies, however, the interaction has been demonstrated in some small human studies or in controlled animal studies in conjunction with multiple case reports.
- PossibleInteraction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
- UnlikelyInteraction has been demonstrated in animal or in lab research but has been shown not to occur in humans.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Clomipramine page
“A tricyclic antidepressant used mostly for OCD, clomipramine (Anafranil) is unforgiving of shifts in its blood level, which is why its 236 supplement interactions deserve genuine wariness. Most of the list involves metabolism: herbs that speed up or slow down the liver enzymes handling clomipramine can drag its level too low or push it…”

- Cancer risk reduction (popular interest)
- Blood sugar support
Broccoli is a nutritious cruciferous vegetable rich in fiber, vitamins, and plant compounds like sulforaphane that have drawn scientific interest for health benefits.
