Here's the honest take: this concern comes only from animal and lab research, not from people. The idea is that Brussels sprouts may speed up a liver enzyme called CYP1A2, which could make some medicines clear out a little faster. For this combo product, that enzyme plays only a minor role. Acetaminophen, diphenhydramine, and pseudoephedrine are mostly handled by other pathways, so any real-world effect on your pain relief, allergy symptoms, or congestion is unlikely.
Bottom line: enjoying Brussels sprouts as food should not meaningfully change how this cold and allergy medicine works. The evidence here is weak and theoretical, so there's no need to worry. If you ever have questions about timing or your specific situation, your pharmacist is happy to help.

Here's the gist: the acetaminophen part of this combo product gets cleared by your liver through a process called glucuronidation. Brussels sprouts (and other cruciferous veggies like cabbage) seem to nudge that pathway to work a little faster. In theory, that could mean your body clears the acetaminophen a bit quicker, so you might get slightly less fever or pain relief from a dose. The decongestant (pseudoephedrine) and the antihistamine (diphenhydramine) aren't really affected here.
Honestly, this is a mild and mostly theoretical concern. The amount of Brussels sprouts you'd eat at dinner is very unlikely to change how well your Tylenol-type medicine works. I wouldn't lose sleep over it. If you ever feel a product isn't easing your symptoms, check in with your pharmacist before adjusting anything.

Good question! This combo product pairs acetaminophen (the pain and fever reliever) with diphenhydramine and pseudoephedrine. The interaction on file is with the acetaminophen part. Eating cabbage and Brussels sprouts regularly seems to gently speed up how your body clears acetaminophen, lowering its levels by up to about 16% in one study. So the practical effect is a little less pain or fever relief, not more risk.
Honestly, a 16% dip is modest, and an occasional side of sprouts at dinner is unlikely to make a real difference. This doesn't change the diphenhydramine (drowsiness) or pseudoephedrine (stimulation) parts at all. If your medicine just doesn't seem to be working, check in with your pharmacist before adjusting anything.
