Cannabidiol may increase levels of drugs metabolized by CYP2C19.
Research shows that cannabidiol inhibits CYP2C19. In clinical studies and case reports, cannabidiol use resulted in significant increases in the serum levels of topiramate, methadone, citalopram, omeprazole, and N-desmethylclobazam, the primary active metabolite of clobazam. These chemicals are metabolized by CYP2C19. Concomitant use of cannabidiol with CYP2C19 substrates may increase the risk for adverse effects from these substrates.

Here's the gist with your Konvomep (omeprazole plus sodium bicarbonate): your liver uses an enzyme called CYP2C19 to clear out the omeprazole part. CBD slows that enzyme down. In good-quality studies, CBD actually raised omeprazole blood levels, so this isn't just theory, it really does happen.

Practically speaking, more omeprazole hanging around usually means a stronger effect, and possibly more side effects like headache, nausea, stomach upset, gas, or diarrhea. Omeprazole isn't a dangerous-in-small-amounts kind of drug, so this is more of a 'be aware' situation than an emergency. Still, before you pair CBD with Konvomep, run it by your pharmacist or doctor, especially since CBD product strengths vary so much.

Here's the gist for the omeprazole part of this combo: omeprazole gently slows down a liver enzyme called CYP2C19, and that same enzyme helps your body break down CBD. So when you take them together, your CBD may clear out a little more slowly and build up somewhat. That could make CBD's usual effects feel stronger, things like drowsiness, lightheadedness, dry mouth, or an upset stomach.

I want to be honest about how solid this is: it's a theoretical concern based on how these drugs are processed, not something proven in real patients. For most people it stays mild. Here's the short version for the omeprazole part of Konvomep: your liver uses an enzyme called CYP3A4 to help clear omeprazole (the sodium bicarbonate is just an antacid buffer and isn't really affected). CBD can slow that enzyme down, so omeprazole may hang around a bit longer than usual. In practice that might mean slightly stronger or longer-lasting effects, and possibly more of its usual side effects like headache, nausea, gas, or loose stools.

The good news: omeprazole is generally forgiving, so this is usually a mild concern rather than a dangerous one. Still, since CBD products vary so much in strength, I'd run it by your pharmacist or doctor before combining them, especially if you take other medicines too.

The omeprazole part of Konvomep is cleared from your body mainly by a liver enzyme called CYP2C19. CBD can slow that enzyme down, which means omeprazole isn't broken down as quickly and can build up in your system. In one good-quality study, a large single dose of CBD raised omeprazole levels by about 200%, so this is a real, well-documented effect.

For most people, more omeprazole isn't dangerous, but it can mean stronger drug exposure and a higher chance of side effects like headache, stomach upset, gas, or diarrhea. Keep in mind those big study doses are far higher than many everyday CBD products. Before mixing the two, check in with your pharmacist or doctor so they can guide you.
